so I'm trying to understand stream order, and I looked on that wikipedia article posted above (along with a bunch of other sources)...the only thing i don't understand is the question "What is the Horton-Strahler index of this stream system?" I'm probably being stupid, but the other quest...

the lake features topic is killing me - I have such mess of information physical/chemical properties and stratification.

What I really want to know is, lake shorelines and waves? I can't find ANYTHING about them - what in the world are we supposed to know?
