Unfortunately I have conflicts with Fossils & Solar System (I'll just hope I turn out to not be good at Fossils )

I wonder why all the build events are set as walk-in to compete.fozendog wrote:*Raises Eyebrow*

The last three or four years have been sign up online, which my team found amazingly helpful, and allowed us to setup our setup our team well ahead of time, and kept conflicts to a minimum. I don't know why they would have changed from something that seemed to work really well, and at least made my team run a lot smoother
Walk in for doing events is going to be a nightmare, what happens when a bunch of teams all try to go during a few hours and then teams do not get to compete in that time period that they and their partner have free? Are we going to have to worry about the number of people ahead of us in line versus when our next event is going to be? If they do sign ups the morning of the issue is then going to be coaches fighting for spots, and then conflicts that could make the best team for that event not be able to compete, which is unfair to the students who have been spending all year trying to perfect their devices.
This change just seems stupid when the last three years have been doing online stuff, and that made my teams life a lot easier. Anyone happen to have any insight on why they are making this change?

It's important to note that this was just recently released and they will likely have a self scheduling system again, as that has worked well in past years (in my experience).

The self-scheduling is one of the only things I like about Georgia's state tournament; they do it for all the events (of course, the time slots are insane and always get changed at the last moment, but besides that it's good).fozendog wrote:It's important to note that this was just recently released and they will likely have a self scheduling system again, as that has worked well in past years (in my experience).
