I think there is a link on soinc.org. where the previous years events are listed (going back to the 80s). Just from the patterns, you can tell which are permanent.
Strath Haven MS:
2008: Regionals-3, States-5
2009: Regionals-2, States-4
2010: Regionals-1, States-2, Nationals-19 :)
2011 (Co-captain): Regionals-1, States-1, Nationals-11 :D

Nationals: Aquifers-37, Compute This-13, Dynamic Planet-25, Ecology-6, Experimental Design-7, Junkyard-33

Moving to C...

Anatomy for B division will get rid of circulatory, keep skeletal and pick up a new system. Fossils will be an event through 2011, but in 2012 rocks takes back as an event. Reach for the stars might be staying, but it might be going back to the solar system next year, I'm not sure. Meteorology will no longer be climate, but will be everyday weather. This is all for B Division.

all of this is accorind to the rotation schedual or a pattern. they don't have to follow this when they pick events for next year. They almost always do, but they aren't forced to. so nothing 100% sure untill the head SO people gather at this thing the sunday after nationals (or something like that) to decide next years events. This process is explained in some thread in these boards but i'm not gonna go bother to look for it. An example of not following the pattern was Elevated Bridge. Beam was supposed to be this years event but they chose EB instead. All the other event almost always follow the pattern to my knowledge.

I think the sunday after nationals is a decide the events/ start the rules meeting. Cause there is a different meeting of the national supervisors (or something like that) for each topic (earth science, biology, inquiry, tech...) and they decide events and begin some rules.

Another event that didn't follow the rotation was pentathalon. Also, mystery archatecture was supposed to be 2 years (at least most events stay for 2)
