Time to make notes. 7,500 words to go...
Ladue Science Olympiad (2014ish-2017)
A wild goose flies over a pond, leaving behind a voice in the wind.
A man passes through this world, leaving behind a name.

Can we only submit things after June 1st, or can we submit things sooner?

Re: Scioly Summer Study Session 2015
If you submit things earlier, we will not be able to accept it, so we would prefer that you please NOT send it before then. We are working on logistical stuff basically, and at least I know I'll be a bit busy until June 1st for reviewing materials sent in anyway. Please just remember whenever you do send it in READ FOREVER'S POST AT THE START OF THIS THREAD. It contains various details important to test-making, note-making, and sending in the stuff (eg. file format, etc). We would like to make the process of accepting materials quick, and if you read that post, then it should be.Panda Weasley wrote:Can we only submit things after June 1st, or can we submit things sooner?

Re: Scioly Summer Study Session 2015
This is the third year that I will be participating in SSSS, and I can't wait to get started! This program has really benefited me in prepping for my events and becoming familiar with the various concepts early on. Great way to learn how to make good practice tests too!

Re: Scioly Summer Study Session 2015
This is my third year with forever + mnstr, and I am (we are?) very happy for the excitement . Of course, I agree about the usefulness, heh. Looking forward to reading (and throwing piles of advice at muahahah) the submissions.vennowsah wrote:This is the third year that I will be participating in SSSS, and I can't wait to get started! Re: Scioly Summer Study Session 2015
Are we allowed to send something for a different division? For example send a guide for a division B event even if we are in division C and still get in?
Scioly isn't a club, or an organization. It is a lifestyle.

Re: Scioly Summer Study Session 2015
I don't see why not as long as we can approve it, is about a relevant event, follows file format (if you can save as PDF...which you really should be able to), etc. I would like to say if it's something someone else made please we trust you won't send that in and will do your own work (seems random, but I like to throw in random precautions). Also, yes, if you copy it off wiki/test exchange/something from the past likely the reviewer will know (at least I will).InfiniCuber wrote:Are we allowed to send something for a different division? Re: Scioly Summer Study Session 2015
EDIT: I found the trial event rules from 2013 and its list. Should I just base my practice test off of the 2013 list?
--
Let's say I want to make a quick practice test for an event such as Invasive Species. Where would I find a list of the potential organisms that may or may not appear on the examination for the event? Very excited to participate in SSSS this year!

Re: Scioly Summer Study Session 2015
Yes, use the 2013 national trial list (it is probably the closest available option to what the official list will be for next season). I would imagine that there would only minor changes to that trial list for the official list.yciao wrote:EDIT: I found the trial event rules from 2013 and its list. Re: Scioly Summer Study Session 2015
For easier tests to write like ExpD or WIDI, would you want multiple tests made, or would you prefer only one?
