I'm taking the MIT Admissions one, the tour of MIT, Pigeonhole Principle, and a few others I think.

Also, who else here feels that it's stupid that ornithology is a trial event? Also, what are the rules/stuff we're supposed to do for Circuit Lab, Food Chemistry, and Nuclear Science Lab?

I don't know exactly why it's not a regular event, but the coaches decided on it not being one.

MA division C decides to be different and run some "real" events as trials. I don't have the schedule yet. Do you know of any others being ran as a trial?

Yea, I got the schedule, since I'm the captain/coach person, haha. The trials are Egg-O-Naut, Ornithology, Picture This, Nuclear Science Lab, Circuit Lab, and Food Chemistry. Where do we learn how to do the last three/what's going to be on them?

Thanks! We haven't even registered yet so we don't have rule books or schedules. The rules for trial events can be found here.

I'm working on Astronomy, WIDI, Remote Sensing, Mousetrap Vehicle, and Elevated Bridge.
I'm really not a huge fan of the schedule for states.
Aquarius, I've always wondered.. what does NBSO stand for?

The schedule for states is a little confusing, especially in the afternoon. I don't know, but it's not final yet, right?

NBSO stands for Nick Barrett Science Olympiad. A few years ago (2006?) the Lexington School District had the fabulous idea to cut out the science olympiad program from the high school budget and one of the students Nick Barrett fought to raise the funds to save the team and brought them to the 2007 state competition without school support. He graduated that year but he still helped run the team. In November 2007 he died in a car crash so the team was named after him in memory. We usually just refer to it as Science Olympiad though, not NBSO.

That was really long-winded :] Sorry.

Wow. That's both sad and inspiring. Thanks for sharing that.
The schedule for states isn't 100%, but I doubt it will change. If it does change, my team might just kill me. ;)
But basically later on they'll give us team numbers from like 1-40 or whatever and if your number is even, then you go to the blocks that say even. If the number is odd, then you go to the blocks that say odd.
They haven't sent out the building time sign up sheet yet, correct?
Did you guys get anything other than the rule book when you sent in the registration fee? We were all expecting a team number and a schedule but all we got was the rules. We had to wait until a few weeks ago when the schedule was posted online.

I actually haven't sent our form in yet -__- The head guy of MA knows that we're participating this year though, so it's ok.

Our team is kinda disorganized so I don't know...
On the schedule the last two block confuse me because its not like the first two.
Once column is for odd's and one is for evens, does that mean that any given person can do three events + one tech event? and if no tech event, just have an hour free?
