Re: 2011-2012 Rules
I think regardless of the type of task you put, people will always try to solve them. I remember my partner and I were freaking out about this at the beginning of the year, but in the end we still managed to get everything to work (well almost everything). I've always preferred electrical stuff, because our group is amazing at mousetrap circuits.
Still, considering this will be for B division next year, making the tasks more physics based probably makes more sense.

Ehh not necessarily. If the tasks are really hard and not really worth it points-wise (and you can pick and choose as was allowed this year) people will go for the easy tasks almost every time.haverstall wrote:I think regardless of the type of task you put, people will always try to solve them.

Definetly, for example this year's pulley task was a bit of a hassle, and isn't worth the 20 or 30 points

Re: 2011-2012 Rules
I guess. It's just I remember at the beginning of the year, we were freaking out about the tasks. There are definitely some that weren't worth the trouble (pulley, screw), but I think we were able to get through the season. Also, last year, we had the same mindset, but I think we were able to get all 10 tasks "working". So, my point is, even if it seems super hard, someone will always find a smart way to do it.
Still, we are talking about Div B. So I agree that the rules have to be easier.

Mission Possible was NOT an event at AL state division A. I am certain because I was there.chalker wrote:There are versions of almost all the events specifically designed for Div.
