Minnesota Science Olympiad was officially recognized by the Minnesota Academy of Science in 1995 (although it was established in 1985).

The winner was Eastview High School with a score of 99 with 32 teams. They beat 2nd place by 46 points and it was the largest winning margin in the history of Minnesota Science Olympiad.
