I am incredibly impressed by Mason's national showing. They probably are the best performing first-time nationals team ever. It looks like Ohio may have four powerhouse teams in the years to come, if Mason can keep the momentum from a strong nationals showing.
Congrats to the winners of C, Troy!

Re: Ohio 2018
Congratulations to Mason & Solon.
Can anyone explain to me how Mason became so good this year? This is truly amazing to see. It also seems like Centerville losing their NSB team really affected the team.

Strongest Invitationals?
Hey guys, just wanted to ask what you think are the strongest invitationals out there in terms of competition. To be specific, what invitationals bring the strongest Div C and/or Div B schools to the competition? Maybe rank your top 5? I assume it looks like MIT is the cream of the crop, but I'd lov...

Re: Unofficial Rankings B
Does Solon not let ninth graders in? 9th graders are only on the Division B team. It's been a policy to not allow 9th graders on Division C, just as basically a "non-compete" between B & C. So the class of 2017 is in ninth grade right now, so they didn't graduate yet from div b, like ...

Re: Science Olympiad 2014-2015 Events
Districts that have strong B-to-C connections are always going to have some form of an advantage- there's not much you can do about that. Also, C events typically do move back to B, because it's preferable to B events moving up to C (and the students that did them moving up with them) Yep. You coul...

Re: Iolani Invitational
To clarify, there's both a Hawaii invitational and an online one (someone correct me if I'm wrong?). I was referring to the online one, however.cifutielu wrote:Is Iolani an online invite?

Re: Has there ever been a miscounting of points?
On that note, the 1996 National tournament allegedly had a tie for first, but since we don't have any form of results, we can't say for sure. Last year, J. C. Booth Middle School's score was somehow miscounted, so they ended up tying for 12th with Dodgen Middle School last year at Nationals. Withou...
