Re: Improving Weak Events

Bonus: if you have someone that is passionate about a certain subject, it helps to assign them events around it. Now if you've satisfied al...

Re: Florida 2019

As someone who was part of the Gulf Breeze dynasty of teams, it really, really makes me happy to see how far Florida has come in Science Olympiad both in terms of participation and competitiveness. Congrats to all of those who participated this year, and extra congrats to Orlando Science School and ...

Re: Dynamic Planet B/C

Agree with space scholar about Division B. Know simple formulas... but really only Division C should worry about things like flow calculations and residence time.

Re: Dynamic Planet B/C

I also suggest an Earth Science textbook such as the one by Tarbuck and Lutgens. It's good to keep handy, too, when the topic of DP changes.

Re: Remote Sensing C

Yeah... I would definitely study some meteorology. You don't have to study *everything* meteorology-related for sure... google and focus on subjects such as Hydrometeorology. That should give you a good start on where to focus your attention. One of the years I participated... I believe in 2004... t...

I hope everyone who goes enjoys this year's national competition! The Florida state organization is great... and I'm glad to see them hosting nationals this year! Besides... how many have always wanted to go to Disney World AND Nationals! ;)

Hi all! Wow... Hydrospheric Remote Sensing? They are getting creative with RS topics. If anyone needs any help, feel free to ask! To give you all a jump start on this, I would suggest exploring the multitudes of hydrospheric-related services out there such as tides/surges, lakes and river gauges, an...

Re: Road Scholar B

Hi all!

I always loved the Road Scholar event... especially some of the creative stories judges had! One time I created a test involving an Alberta road map... that was really fun.

If anyone has any questions about the content, feel free to ask!

I can't believe this thread is still going on... on the old board, it started in 2001 (in May, I believe...) :) Is this the longest active thread on scioly right now? I can't think of any others off the top of my head. If I remember correctly, there was a religion thread on the old board that was s...
