Re: Boyceville (WI) Invitational

So I have some updates to tournaments hosted by Boyceville (WI) Science Olympiad in the upcoming year. Boyceville will be partnering with Belleville (WI) Science Olympiad to provide the most competitive opportunities for students in coordination with state and national policies. Teams can participat...

Re: Tournaments Releasing Raw Scores

Yes they can, but sometimes, depending on the size of the graph it can be very difficult to tell really how far away you were from the top or bottom, especially if a really high or low outlier skews the distribution. This was an issue years ago in Scrambler when top scores were around 5000 but some ...

Re: Tournaments Releasing Raw Scores

Hello, I am going to bring up something slightly different to think about that as a tournament director I have encountered. At the Boyceville Invitational we have released raw scores to the teams who have competed, but do not release them publicly. Many coaches and tournament personnel over the year...

Re: Do people normally get States/Regionals tests back?

Hello,

In Wisconsin, I know the West Regionals (both B and C) hand back tests and send score distributions to competing teams only. For state, no tests are ever given back, though this year raw score distributions were released to all competing teams.

Re: Unosmium Results and the SciolyFF

Hi All, This is really a great site, thanks RoboMarth for all of your hard work! I have a ton of results that I will slowly start putting into Google Docs and sharing with you. I have WI state results (both B and C) at least 10 years back (over 20 years back for C I think) as well as Boyceville (WI)...

Re: Making tests tips

Hello, I just finished running Amazing Mechatronics in Wisconsin (also a WI event for Div B and C this year) at the Medford Invite yesterday, and also wrote the test for the Belleville Invite. I would suggest using Tinker Circuits online and using a mix of multiple choice and free-response questions...

Re: West coast invites

Hello, I'll chime in here with Boyceville mentioned. Our date is 12/1, which I see probably isn't ideal. While we strive to provide a great competitive opportunity for both strong and new/young teams, and it is humbling to be mentioned alongside other great invites, I would be foolish to compare our...

Re: Endothermic Task

OK, seems reasonable to me. For the record I agree with you, and I like your argument about the changing resistance. I just like the idea of an FAQ on this because I see different event supervisors possibly interpreting this differently.
