Re: Thermodynamics B/C

I realize this isn't the place for rules clarifications, FAQs, etc. That being said, we have ordered two different sets of nominal 250 mL beakers online. Upon unboxing, one set was graduated to 200 mL and the other to 300 mL. Are both illegal? If your 250mL beaker shows a mark for 200mL that is mos...

Re: Thermodynamics B/C

For all of you talking about Aero gels. I was the Event Supervisor this past week at an invitational. I saw numerous devices with Aero gels, some with beads and others more solid forms. I am not saying you shouldn't use them, but overall I was not impressed. The beads were messy, and the constructio...

Does anyone have the Columbia Coaches email address? I have some pics of the team on stage and I want to send it to them. Thanks in advance.

Re: New York 2014

Never saw so much focus on cut-offs until this week. Are these changes posted anywhere? Would teams have known that 10 would be awarded going into this weekends competition? Just to clarify. The info about 10 medals has been posted on the NY website since September. If your region didn't offer 10 m...

Re: MagLev C

In the official handbook, the target time would be set by the judges after impound. Is this correct or do we predict our own time? Also, it said that we have to shield our fan so the judge can not touch it with a 1/4 in. dowel. What is the exact ruling on this, as there can be many ways to interpre...

Re: MagLev C [Trial]

Justed wanted to congratulate everyone who competed at states. It is nice to hear that you had a good time and feel that the event was run well. The website lists the top run time and top test score. Congratulations to Fayetteville and Ward Melville for making it to Nationals. I am impressed more an...

Re: MagLev C [Trial]

Why not just announce which direction the vechicles will travel? (i.e. 'right side north') This would minimize set up time. From what I see there are approx 9 teams per hour to compete. If each team uses 10 minutes, that's 90 minutes, if two tracks are used..that is still 45 minutes and then there ...
