Re: Junkyard Challenge B

Regarding these scores, what is it holding? After all at the compition it could be 1 of 3 possiblities. As for these scores, this was while holding a golf ball.

I feel exactly the same as you, just replace 5th with 6th. We definitly did better this year, but I'm still amazed that 3 teams got under 200. Congrats to everyone, it was an amazing year.

Anyway, it's the same rules, nothings changed, the questions may just be worded diffrent to make it harder. Tha...

Re: Battery Buggy B

Can anyone tell me how to make a buggy go straight if it is currently veering off to the left. It has front-wheel drive, and the gears are more towards the right of the vehicle. Their are several reasons why this might happen, their may be too much weight on one side or a wheel may be loose....

Deathshadow5 wrote:in junkyard challange, with the mousetraps and golf ball do they measure the trapes from the closest side, in the center of the trap or on the far side?
Its in the rules, the point on the mousetrap that is closest to the center, will be used to mesure.

Re: Junkyard Challenge B

Set up time is not a tie-breaker on a perfect score. It is longest time of operation up to 60 seconds. So, how many tenths of second do you risk in programming. There are three possible places for human reaction time to be factored in--starting of the stop watch, dropping of the ball and stopping o...

Re: Junkyard Challenge B

I'm going to submit a rule clarification, but I want everyone else's opinion too. So we are about to have a face off at our school to see who competes in this event at regionals, and the other team is doing pretty well. The only problem is is that they have tied all of their mousetraps together (N ...

Found a practice test with UTM: http://www.sciencenc.com/Tournament_inf ... cholar.doc. Questions 45 asks for the easting value of a location. How do I get that?
