Balsa Man Thanks so much for your comments of Mar. 25 about reading this forum. I'll bet there will be another question within a week that could have been answered by reading this site? I have a very limited engineering background, but I know a lot about balsa and glue. I'm more than happy to share ...

Re: Flight Times
Illusionist In regard to your question about increasing your stab area without increasing your wing area. Maybe others can weigh in on your question, but let me give you my take. On a duration model airplane the challenge is to make it fly as long as possible. Therefore both the wing and the stab co...

Littleboy, Unless someone out there got a picture without my knowledge, there arn't any pictures anywhere. I never took any, and to my knowledge my students never took any. Because we were so far ahead of the competition last year, I asked my students to keep our design under wraps. This year will b...

Illusionist,
You and Jeff Anderson are both in Michigan arn't you? Ask (beg) Jeff to bring some extra rubber
to the state event. You might be suprised to see how willing people are to help others? Good luck.

Illusionist,
Best suggestion is to go back to your 2 bladed design, and try to improve it. Why pursue something that might be ruled illegal, if you have something that is better, and legal? Good luck.

Re: Flight Times
Illusionist, You actually are getting a fairly good performance for your airplane, and Jeff has already given you some excellent suggestions, but first let me show you why one airplane out performs another. Wing loading plays a huge roll in duration flying. Your airplane has a combined wing and stab...

Re: Propellers
Excellent post by calgoddard. Some of the best advice to appear hear in a while! Too many people think there is a magic bullet out there that if they just have the right prop, airfoil, rubber or some other "secret" ingredient they will all of a sudden have a 4 minute WS airplane. There are...
