Re: Blocks Task
I am just waiting on a reply for clarifications, but I thought I would see what others opinions may be. I was thinking of maybe covering the blocks in some sort of conductive surface (aluminum foil?) in order to create a switch that is closed when all five blocks are stacked. Okay I was just thinki...

Re: Blocks Task
What about covering the blocks with something, as long as they are made of wood? Would that be constituted as legal? The blocks themselves would be wood but have something attached to them/wrapped around them so they may not appear as wood but are...as long as it could be shown that the blocks are ...

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle C
Okay, thanks . I'll try the bigger wheels as well and a slightly longer arm. Just having a 20 cm bar with CD's for wheels wasn't working so well for distance.

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle C
I was just wanting a clarification on the rules. The rules have restrictions on the wheel base, but they did not mention anything about an arm attached to the kill-bar. Are there any limitations on how long any arm attached to the bar can be?

Re: Physics Lab B/C
I was wondering whether the direction that the turbine/blades spun was important. If they spin and produce a negative reading since they spin opposite of what the setup is meant for, will the event supervisors take that into account or will the just treat it as if it was a positive reading (i.e. jus...

Re: Thoughts? (on rule points)
Would an electrolyte solution be allowed? Technically it counts as "water," and it can be used as a trigger via a wet cell. Yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking along the lines of...like I said though, it would help quite if I had the actual rule book and not the limited resources on so...

Re: Thoughts? (on rule points)
Our team hasn't gotten the rule books yet, but I did look at the power-point on the soinc website. It said as part of things you can't include in your device is liquids except for water. Does anybody know if that is actually the case? Also, would it be legal to put something into the water (i.e. as ...
