Re: Air Trajectory B/C
Any Idea what scores might go top 10, medal (top 6), and win nationals? I would imagine to secure a spot in the top 6, a team might need to get under 5cm on both targets and be able to hit two buckets for 400 points. Have you seen what design the top teams have been using? I have, but I'm not reall...

Is this glue issue or just the thickness of the wood? http://i.imgur.com/z2lBI5G.jpg That was the only place that broke at 10kg mark. Seems like a lot of pressure was centered there. I'm retesting it w/ thicker wood but there may be variable since it may have become weakened (nothing broke except a...

Re: Air Trajectory B/C
Also, this is going to sound weird but is anybody seeing an optimal distance coming from some angle other than 45 degrees?? We get a maximal flight at around 35 degrees. Weird! YES! SCIENCE! In a vacuum the ideal angle to launch a projectile at is 45 degrees, yes. In air, the angle shallows out a b...

Re: Designs B/C
Hi, I am having some trouble with my bridges. I am making my bridges smaller than 5cm width to save mass, yet I think this leads to another issue. Whenever I test my bridges they frequently just tip over. I've been thinking of angling my bridge to a trapezoid when viewed on its short end. However I...

Re: Scores B/C
What do you mean 'they did the math' wrong? I have all the raw scores for Wright State since I ran scoring there and can look things up for you, but I'd like to understand your comment. Chalker, do you happen to know if raw scores from Wright State are going to be publicly released? I competed ther...

Re: Air Trajectory B/C
Out of curiosity, is the anyone who is able to shoot a racquetball far enough? Based on my calculations, with a machine that has like a 10% efficiency, (which is normal) you should be able to shoot up to like 15m... I just got back from the Wright State Invitational and I would say that most, if no...
