I just came back from NYS states for mission possible. I was surprised at the fact that we had the 30 minute set up time the night before instead of right before the event. For most teams it shouldn't matter for the mission to sit through the night almost completely set up (theres only five minutes ...

Time Adjustment Step

I have a quick question for the state competition: the time is between 60 and 90 seconds, so one needs to have a time adjusting step.

Would it be okay to use the electric motor (which we use as an archimedes screw) to waste time (have it exceed 40 seconds)?

Photocell motor

Recently the motor that I used in conjunction with the photocell broke...it was a cooling fan from a laptop. Can the photocell only activate really small motors? (as in require a very small amount of voltage). What other motors have you used in the photocell step?

You can't have air from the outside connecting into your pneumatic system, an example is an open tube manometer (well maybe not for this event).
