Time Adjustment Step
I have a quick question for the state competition: the time is between 60 and 90 seconds, so one needs to have a time adjusting step.
Would it be okay to use the electric motor (which we use as an archimedes screw) to waste time (have it exceed 40 seconds)?

Re: Photocell motor
Everything in this thread has been covered in depth on the Photocell Bonus thread.....- -what is and is not considered as a "photocell -use of relays -how to hook it all up and make it work. Using a relay allows you to use pretty much whatever motor you want to. We're using a 12v computer cool...

Photocell motor
Recently the motor that I used in conjunction with the photocell broke...it was a cooling fan from a laptop. Can the photocell only activate really small motors? (as in require a very small amount of voltage). What other motors have you used in the photocell step?

Re: Hydraulics and Pneumatics
You can't have air from the outside connecting into your pneumatic system, an example is an open tube manometer (well maybe not for this event). As long as your pneumatic/hydraulic system is surrounded or enclosed completely and has no contact with anything outside the let's say "container"...
