Re: towers results for your state: state, team, score and pl

WW-P South got a score of 62 and JPS got a score of I believe 66. They did test after the session ended and also modified their tower after check-in. Additionally the judges publicly posted all the scores and tower specs on a board so that may have caused teams to modify their towers after seeing ho...

Re: Gravity Vehicle C

But doesn't the rules say " a bent paper clip?" What I meant by that was "if the rules say a paper clip" wouldn't having multiple clips be illegal? We need to have " A bent paper clip" for the purpose of measurement, but that does not disallow us from having multiple p...

Re: Gravity Vehicle C

Not sure about Rustin, but our score was 284 I believe... this was a bit disappointing because at Consetoga we got a score of 194 on a very similar surface and distance.

Re: Robot Arm C

Thanks for the replies! I ended up finding a decent usb servo control board with 18 I/O so i grabbed that and a few potentiometers and I will probably end up making a master slave system. Any tips about that would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Robot Arm C

I have a question... Looking at various R/C systems i realized that they are probably all designed so that when the stick is pushed the servo actuates and then when the stick centers the servo recenters. Is there a way to make it so that the stick would proportionally control the speed at which the ...

Re: Sounds of Music C

Quoting wikipedia: Part of the key to the marimba's rich sound is its resonators. These are metal tubes (usually aluminium) that hang below each bar. The length varies according to the frequency that the bar produces. Vibrations from the bars resonate as they pass through the tubes, which amplify th...

Re: Sounds of Music C

Those are glass bars... together with the resonating pipes it makes a glass marimba. The one the A team uses is significantly better as it can cover the full range.
