Re: New Jersey 2014
So apparently Anatomy & Physiology, Astronomy, Disease Detectives, Entomology, Geomapping, Rocks & Minerals, Technical Problem Solving, Water Quality, and the second trial event won't be happening unless more people volunteer to proctor and write tests and stuff. (And that's only for C I thi...

Re: Epidemiology Challenge C [Trial]
Correct. I've never competed in DD, but I did study it for a short time my first year in SO. DD basically gives you a scenario and you have to answer stuff about it and predict stuff or conduct an analysis or something right? And it's a test on site. Epi is basically coming up with your own study an...

Re: Rocks and Minerals B/C
Thanks guys! Before I answer, please note my aforementioned response - USE A BINDER! Not only can you organize it to your own discretion, you can learn the facts and pseudo-memorize them as you create your sheets. (Plus it's great for general geology/petrology/mineralogy notes) But that's just me. D...

Re: Rocks and Minerals B/C
I'm not entirely sure myself. I do have a random guide (that's about 50 pages and was published in the 1950s... still talks about the "Dawn of the space age" in present tense) that has a US map with dots all over it for different specimen. I assume the dots are quarries or localities or wh...

Re: Rocks and Minerals B/C
So Regionals approaches and I still haven't decided on a pretty important thing: field guide. Normally, I would borrow all the books related to the subject (R&M, Fossils, Birds, etc.) from the library, figure out what I like, and then buy it. However, my library seems to be short on good R&M...

Yep, most changes are usually written in bold. So I believe Limonite is the only new one.PacificGoldenPlover wrote:It seems virtually identical to the 2008 list. I didn't notice any differences. (Though I think Limonite is new.

Re: New Jersey 2011
Not a clue. Though Bio Blitz for B div. seemed like a pretty big trend. I'm not sure about C div.
Nats is swiftly approaching. I'm not so sure about Grover or North now, but to Community and South, best of luck. NEW JERSEY REPRESENT.

Re: New Jersey 2011
I checked the Nats list. It doesn't seem that NJ will send two teams. Is Grover going to Nats? It's a pretty similar situation to last year. Three teams need to drop out for Grover to go to Nats. Five teams need to drop out for WWP N to go to Nats. Oregon and Oklahoma drop out for B div... usually....
