Re: Elastic Launched Glider C
I've seen plans where wash in is sanded into the wing tips. I also came across a plan that uses a "wash in wedge", a small piece of 1/32 balsa about 3mmx7mm placed right next to the dihedral break on one side of the aircraft (there are two dihedral points). Where exactly is this supposed t...

Re: Where are you going for colleges?
Am I the only one looking at transferring from community college? Private schools are expensive!

Re: AP scores
I forked over the $8 to get my scores today. On the only two AP tests I'll ever take, I got a 5 on APUSH and a 5 on Chem. I didn't study for either of them. I would have been horribly disappointed with a 4 on Chem, but I was expecting a 4 on APUSH just because I hate history. Fortunately I don't hav...

Re: Where are you going for colleges?
I'm finishing up my junior year hoping to go to WPI for physics, probably with a math minor. I might even get to take some physics classes at RPI next year.

Re: Helicopter Egg Drop B [Trial]
I was not in the gym as I had thought, the tournament supervisor had a stairwell set up for us that worked nicely. As for success, 2 out of 7 teams had eggs that survived. I forgot to check, but I believe that the final ranking went in order of times (as in there was no helicopter that fell slower t...

Re: Optics B/C
All right. Say you have this problem: A train is moving directly towards you at 2×108 m/s. The (monochromatic) light on the front of the train has a wavelength of 250 nanometers in the frame of the train. What wavelength do you observe? I will post answer and how-to-solve later, because there are.....

Re: Helicopter Egg Drop B [Trial]
I'll be running this event, but I'm concerned about putting middle school kids 5 meters in the air to drop their helicopters. I don't want to put them that high up on a normal ladder, and the middle school that hosts the competition (and I imagine many other middle schools) don't have an enclosed la...

Re: SAT Scores?
Why do I come here? I thought I had a score that might get me into a college, but apparently not  Wow, that's a pretty nice improvement! My composite score was 2230 (only a 730 on critical reading, 760 math, and 740 writing - the result of a perfect 80 on the multiple choice, but bombed essay :...
