Re: Bottle Rocket B
I think the homemade launcher we used at home was not sealed as tightly as the one at the tournament( I heard a pop sound and the rocket went up very fast). As long as your homemade launcher will get up to 60psi and hold it for a few seconds, you should be okay. Our launcher usually makes a popping...

Re: Storm the Castle B
...We have a hinged counterweight trebuchet with a wire "scoop" shape to hold the projectile (not a sling). We tried a sling with our trebuchet and it wasn't successful. Needless to say it doesn't have a lot of height in shooting the projectile, but is consistent with distance... We're in...

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle B
Anyone have any ideas on how to make the vehicles go faster without making it lighter? My car was averaging about 20 sec. per run today which is really slow, although it might just be that I needed a new mousetrap to put on, the one I was using was pretty old. Any suggestions? ;) thanks I would che...

Re: Bottle Rocket B
At a competition on Saturday, our teams were allowed to add air until they "thought" it was 60psi. There was not a visible pressure gauge available for them to see. What they didn't know was that the hose was hooked to a compressor inside the building and it was set to 60psi. Several of ou...

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle B
Where are u placing the paper clip at the front or the back of the chasis I do not have the rules on me, but if the rules do not prohibit the placement of the paper clip, then it's up to you. But please read the rules first. There is no best place to put it. If your vehicle is consistently going pa...

Re: Storm the Castle B
That was the farthest throw that I have seen this year. I was helping run the event on Saturday. I also ran it in a January competition. It was a floating arm design painted pink. I think the color choice may have given them the edge. Yeah because that seems to be a decent trebuchet, but I have see...

Re: Storm the Castle B
Our regional competition didn't have StC event, so I don't know what increments the supervisors will use to measure the counterweight. Any help? :?: Er what? The event supervisors will provide the counterweights for you to use. The counterweight can range from 1 - 3 kg. I'd imagine that for ease of...

Re: Junkyard Challenge B
Is there anybody who is still working on the bridge/cantilever/tower? My regional is not for 2 more weeks. I placed 12th at invitationals because I did not have a "free standing" cup. this appartently does not just mean that the cup can't be taped down, it can't be leaning against anythin...

Re: Storm the Castle B
I was at Thomas Jefferson Middle School's regional toady and they had a 2.222 kg CW and a 41.6g projectile. They had placed their target at what I'm guessing to be somewhere for 17-20 meters (granted they were plagued with a bout of 3 miss fires and ended up launching the ball backwards on all thre...
