Re: Mousetrap Vehicle C
Did you buy that U channel, or did you make/bend that into shape? I have never seen aluminum U channel like that at my hardware store.robotman09 wrote:One way I found to fix the movement was to add a U shaped piece of metal in for the wingnut to move along in

Re: Blocks Task
I don't think there's any other way to stack blocks... Bad phrasing on my part. If one were to use a microswitch at the top level, assuming the blocks are being lowered or dropped, each would pass by that microswitch triggering it on its way down. That's no good. The microswitch should be triggered...

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle C

Also, is anyone we're using the wingnut design and for some reason the break isn't stopping the vehicle on time. The vehicle always pass...

Re: Blocks Task
That would be if you were stacking the blocks from the bottom up, right?Primate wrote:You could potentially use height, too. A microswitch at the level of the whole stack would do it.

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle C
I was referring to the fast release method I believe phoenix was referring to, in which the first trap (as I understand), pulls a hook, which pulls a loop attached to the axle. All of the mousetrap's force is released at once, and so the trap reaches it's natural state immediately; the car is stopp...

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle C
The question is: how do you trigger the second trap? Last year I achieved this two different ways. My first way used a linkage system so that when the first trap was at the end of it's travel, it pressed on this linkage, which in turn, pressed on the 'cheese' of the second trap. The second way was ...

Re: Sand Timer Task
So I have been reading rule M carefully, and I guess it is save to say that "electricity must not be used for further actions after the sand timer has started" could be interpreted as "electricity must not be used for further tasks after the sand timer has started" Am I correct i...
