I have four years of competition experience in C Division at the state and national levels. I also h...

Re: Technical Problem Solving C

You might have to dig around on here a little bit, but Mass Spec is there and explained pretty well.

Re: Pennsylvania 2015

Depending on when my spring exams fall, I might be able to make it to States!

Also, States on a Saturday...wow. At least we're not basically the absolute last state this year.

Re: Chem Lab C

Who's excited for this event!? Do any of you know what to expect for kinetics  What I would expect for kinetics is determining reaction order (0 order, 1st order, 2nd order) and determining rates of reactions. Additionally, I would expect to find questions about figuring out the rate-determin...

Re: Pennsylvania 2014

Anyone else very skeptical of the Experimental Design Scores-- considering Harriton, Rustin, and Stoga all scored over 25th? Why are the bungee results wrong? What happened to Scrambler? Very upset with the lack of clarity and mistakes in event scoring this year. It makes all of us lose faith in th...

Re: Pennsylvania 2014

Congratulations to everyone who competed yesterday! It was such a competitive year in both divisions, and yesterday was most certainly the culmination of all the hard work we've all put in since the beginning of the year. Best of luck to all of the teams competing at Nationals in two weeks! As a sid...

Re: Pennsylvania 2014

Sorry this is one day late. SIX DAYS UNTIL STATES! Who's excited? Just remember to enjoy the experience, it's great to compete with some of the best teams in PA and the atmosphere at Juniata is always great (even if it rains)! Division B : 23 votes 1. Shady Side - 225 points (18 first place votes) ...

I don't do Entomology yet I'm going to attempt to put a test together for my school's team. Can someone here PM me general guidelines for making tests that are demonically hard?

Re: Proudest Moments

2012 (second year C Division), I decided to pick up Forestry. One of my friends joined us and I (politely) coerced him into doing Forestry with me. We had a rather uneventful run throughout the year. Fast forward to States and we got first. It was amazing and I am still so sad that Forestry isn't a ...

jacobxc wrote:what should I expect at state 8 ,8.5, 9, 9.5... or 8.7, 9.2, 9.7, 10.2...

I would assume 8.7, 9.2, etc. because having it stop at 8 would technically have it stop before the run time could be determined.

Re: Pennsylvania 2014

WHOAHOOAAHAOAAHAOOAHH I'm really excited for the scores now. Harriton's definitely got to be on guard now, states is going to be awesome! I'm also impressed by Garnet Valley, they really stepped it up this year. North Penn is also a team to watch. I don't think they competed at regionals last year,...
