You could ask your event supervisor about this. We did, and in PA there is a state-wide FAQ that states that either the entire surface may be covered, or none of it. I think this interpretation came from the national SO folks, so you may want to be cautious.

Re: Initiate the Next Action
Yes, Knightmoves is right on the money here. I've supervised Mission many times, and it is well established that an object that is part of one scored action may not also be part of another scored action. So since the dominoes action says "Use a marble to knock over a series of 3 dominoes so the...

Re: The competition: participant may designate a Timer
Can timer runs while the scoreable action list is running? And finally trigger an action along with the last action on ASLs to take the delivery part away to get 150 bonus points and the additional points for timer? If I understand what you are asking, I would say no. Rule 4c describes the timer as...

Re: Clarifying "Initiates the next action..."
Another next action question. For example, look at the golf ball task where it is pulled up an incline plane and the ball must start the next action. The golf ball itself cannot be part of the next action can it? (Like roll off the incline plane and fall into a pully system). Construction rule 4 sa...

Re: Clarifying "Initiates the next action..."
Scorable Actions: For the most part, the rules are fairly easy to understand... but just want to get a better understanding of what they mean by "initiates the next action." . . . . . . can there be a "bridging action" such as domino nudging a higher mass golf ball down the ramp...

Re: Final Action: Putting the initial dropped ball to the tee
. . .So using 1 wedge, 1 20 cm ramp, 1 golf tee to count for both task IX and final task. That would be considered a parallel action. In that case either your final or your Task ix would not be scored (One of them would not be scored). You cannot combine tasks. . . Though a parallel action is not e...

Re: Freedom Flight Torque Meter
I agree with Coach Chuck on all points. One thing that we do, that helps to reduce wear and tear on the torque meter, is to make a short "dummy stick". This is a very short version of the stick that is used to fly with partial motors. It is made from a piece of balsa approximately 3/4X3/8X...

Re: Making propellers
If you want larger pitch changes on Ikara props, careful, very localized application of heat can avoid the stress damage others have mentioned. Also very permanent. If you do it in a jig, easy to control accuracy. You risk melting, but you'll now that right away. At one point there was a video, but...

Re: Tissue tubes
Yeah, I did what u said and it made really flimy tubes of tissue. I rubbed ca over it but its still kinda weak. Is the tube supposed to be stiff? For many years, we used tissue tubes rolled around a 1/16" brass rod. (our wing and stab posts are 1/16" basswood with the corners rounded wher...

Re: Freedom Flight Kit
. . .I think you need to be creative due to different designs. Might pay to have a flat surface (Chinook kits), a foam block (conventional axials), and perhaps some Solo cups and scissors that you could cut some slots to fit specialized heli's? Coach Chuck Thanks, Chuck, Ten086, and Unome for your ...
