Re: Building materials, covering

I think it might have something to do with the plastic? It was rectangular and one of the sides was uncovered and the plastic wasn't the tightest. We wound both the same way.

Re: Building materials, covering

It was the exact same helicopter, we just removed the plastic covering and put on the paper. The rubber was also the same.. 3/32, double looped, total weight about 4g +/- .25

The only thing that could have changed was the added weight from the paper.

Re: Building materials, covering

When we built a helicopter, we first used really light shopping bag covering as suggested on this forum. However, it didn't fly. When the covering was changed to paper (think wide-ruled, school paper) the time was about 30 seconds. The paper was much, much, heavier.. Any explanations?

Re: Wind Power C

Has anyone tried a traditional wind turbine design like this?

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle C

I'm sorry, I should have been more specific. Magnets as a braking system? I'm guessing I can from the two replies.. Thanks :D

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle C

I was just wondering, is using magnets allowed on the vehicle? The rules say that the energy source must be at its lowest energy state, but this is a little vague regarding magnets...

Re: Michigan 2010

You might want to recalculate your odds because I am not on that list and half those people aren't on the A-team anymore.

Second of all, bring it on =)

Good luck to you too!
