Geez, Clements is strong. And the top three are so close, the only thing really separating them are the number of 10+ placings.

Re: Texas 2014

Hmm... predictions. I haven't been to closely in touch with the scene this year, but I'll take a whack. 1st - Seven Lakes, I believe they will take the top spot with ease 2nd - LASA, the safe bet here and you know there're out for blood this year after last year's fluke. However, how close they will...

Re: Robo-Cross B

Current is completely separate from voltage(in a largely simplified view). A car battery only provides 12v but can provide a current up to several hundred amps, whereas a 9v battery will only provide roughly 500mA of current. Chances are your DC Adapter has an output rating labeled on it, and its l...

Re: Robo-Cross B

Like iWonder said, voltage is not important since the servos have specified voltage that they'll operate with. What's important is current/amperage which, in a simplified view, is a measure of how quickly the battery is discharging its energy. Servos have a maximum current draw which should be state...

Re: Texas 2013

Any likelihood of Storm the Castle coming back as a repeat Texas trial event? (As WGYN was repeated these past years) What do they actually base picking trial events on? (arbitrary?) Do you think they'd actually get rid of trial events because of how they affected the Texas results and ultimately T...

Re: Robot Arm C

ok, now i'm really confused. are you saying that there are motors at the top that somehow unspool the tape measures, and then ones that unlock the tape measures to let them reel back in. best thing to look at is the video and the pictures in the description. It's pretty hard to explain, but i'll pu...

Re: Robot Arm C

Same here, harryk :) Although given more time, I would've changed it to a regular high-torque servo with the potentiometer externalized to get the needed range and gearing- I didn't like having to trick the PID loop of my servo in order to get it to move fast enough. I actually was going to use a c...

Winch servo club!!! Though I used mine with a set of gears to reduce it and add more torque
