How wide are you guys making the top part of your tower...I try to make mine about 4.8 cm, but is there any benefit to making the top that wide, or is a smaller width at the top, like 4 cm, a better idea?

1 x 3 might be a little too wide...my xylophone's made out of 1 x 2 pine and it's about 4 feet from the low end to the high end. Also, using pine involves making very long bars, so long in fact, that I have to make collapsible legs and tilt the xylophone sideways to fit it through a doorway. Can't ...

how are you guys tuning your instruments? I was thinking about this the other day. I haven't tried it but you should be able to tune your instrument using your computer, a microphone and a program like Audacity ( Free Download ). The waveforms are likely to be complex, so be sure you're looking at ...

how are you guys tuning your instruments? Do you have an electric tuner that shows the note or frequency of the note just played, or do you have some other device?

A theoretical question: let's say that a tower is built that holds the 15 kg load. If that tower is separated into two sections, the base part and the top part, should both of those parts be able to hold the 15 kg (as in the base and the top both separately hold 15 kg) , or should the load they hold...
