Re: Gravity Vehicle C
100 cm height x 75 cm x 75 cm. Vehicle track max 35 cm, mass max 2.5 kg. That's a rather large ramp for just 35 cm of track ... I'm guessing the vehicle track is how long the vehicle can run on the ramp? And would the maximum weight be for the vehicle itself or the ramp? That's kinda tough for the ...

Re: SAT Scores?
Dropped 30 points from my first SAT Reasoning test (up 10 in math and writing, down 50 in reading) I guess summer makes you forget how to study and take tests! Now I guess we just have the count down for AP tests now!

Re: SAT Scores?
Just wondering, why do 7th/8th graders take the SATs? I mean I have nothing against it, but you have plenty of chances later, and it's $40!

I thought that was Scrambler, powered by the force of a falling brick?personasaurus rex wrote:If I remember correctly, wheeled vehicle was powered by gravity (the starting energy was provided through gravitational acceleration) so maybe it's just the new and improved name of the same event?

Re: How was Nationals?
I liked how most of the award ceremony was really fast, with the exception of the Top 6 places. I just wish that they posted videos of the Sumo Bots competition (or other building events)

Re: North California 2011
ya, churchill made it to nat's and so did Mira Loma  . lol, that was my friend vishal playing on his murumba.(which is basically a xylo). i was the short kid from bv who went up for sumo bots and wind power. the reason sullivan made it to states is because churchill and arden both had b teams...

Re: SAT Scores?
800 on Math 2, 780 in USH, and 730 in Bio. I'm happy about my first time! ... Although there's always that dreading feeling that one more right could have done it on USH. And I was surprised about Bio because I found the AP test to be considerably easier than the SAT II.

Re: Robot Arm B/C [Trial]
I was actually thinking about using this system next year. (although i would definetly need some mentoring with the programming; it also looks like it could get a little expensive). In the second link Austin posted, the guy used servos as potentiometers. Would the servos on the master/control arm b...

Re: Robot Arm B/C [Trial]
Oops I meant with the efficiency thing, that it looks like it used 4 motors. Although this event promises to be very challenging (as demonstrated by even the top national teams), I fully expect that by next year, we can see perfect scores coming out, and cutting down the number of motors will be ver...

Re: Robot Arm B/C [Trial]
Alright, it looks a little delayed, but it could always be lag/motors. How about this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58DIp7Nb ... re=related
