Chalker, I know it says the track must be placed on a level surface, but what about propping the track at a small angle to reduce the speed of the car? What would you guys expect to be a competitive score for a catapult 12000ish?

Just as a reminder Distance is measured in mm so his score was 1930 times 6skillfullparrot7 wrote:The formula for scoring is D*(n+1)=total score. D=distance, n=number of balls transported or hit target plate.

The rules say you can't use tape to secure things to the floor ( it says this in front of tape in the allowed items list)

What kind of materials are you guys using to make the arm of the catapult?
I can't seem to find anything strong enough to take the strain of heaving a golf ball more than a couple of meters.

tennis balls are heavier (tennis balls 60 grams, golf balls 45) but golf balls take up less space so its up for grabs as to the best weight.mnstrviola wrote:What materials have you found to be the most effective as a counterweight/weight? What kinds of distances are you guys getting for the catapult? It says it will be measured in mm so its probably not expected to be too big.
Also it never specifies what the catapult must be powered by, could it be rubber bands (like trajectory) and/or weights (like storm the castle)?
