Re: Technical Problem Solving C
For the rules of this event, it states that it will be covering decomposition rates. Is that relating to kinetics in chemistry and using the rate laws?

Re: Helicopter Egg Drop B [Trial]
Are you allowed to just have a parachute because rules don't state what a blade is and what it should be made out of?

Re: Gravity Vehicle C
What are some good materials to make a ramp out of? I was thinking of making a curved ramp over a flat ramp for obvious reasons but creating a ramp out of a bendable material is the tricky part. Would aluminum channels glued onto a wooden base be efficient?

Re: Hydraulics Task
I think this is one of the simpler tasks this year. (The others are quite tricky, though, or so I've heard.) I did MP last year. Last year they gave us a choice between hydraulics and pneumatics, and we chose pneumatics. We went to a pharmacy and got some syringes, two to be exact. We stretched a t...

Re: Scoring
Our team is attempting to complete both of the 50 point tasks, however there is a semi-high rate of failure. We were wondering if we can build a couple of 20 point tasks into the MP and make a spare TSL in case the 50 point tasks malfunction. If we were to decide on the day of regionals to use the ...

Re: Circular to Linear Task
What if the ball roles into a funnel and then drops onto a straight track. The (circular motion) of the funnel, the dropping of the ball is the conversion from circular, and the track causes it to change to linear?

Re: Temperature Task
I have found that using a heat only thermostat from Honeywell works well. I just purchased the cheapest one and I connected two leads to the electrical connections and it will close a curciut. <http://www.amazon.com/Honeywell-YCT30A1003-Heat-Only-Thermostat/dp/B002PNE00Q> this is the link for the m...

Re: Blocks Task
Are we allowed to have the blocks fall down one by one but on the last block is a mass that falls on a mousetrap causing the next reaction. Technically the stacking of the blocks causes the mass to fall triggering the next reaction.
