Re: Your Daily Random Comment
I, for one, blew up a test tube in chemistry, embedding pieces of it on the lexan door of the fume hood, deafining 3 of us in class, and vaporizing the rest of the test tube(like, we can't even find small pieces of glass anywhere, it's gone). The teachers from the other two rooms came in and asked ...

Re: Remote Sensing C
If you prepared for a RS test like everyone in the past, that test was sooooo off-base. It did not accurately reflect the rules. Fozendog and I were talking about how it was basically a Dynamic Planet Test + Water Quality + a hint of Satellites (the GRACE questions). That's exactly what it was like...

Re: Heredity B/Designer Genes C
Yeah, it was pretty disappointing. I just had the streak of the worst luck at the national tournament this year, and it was my last tournament ever... got 6 hours of sleep due to sickness on Thursday and Friday (If you saw a kid with a box of Kleenex that lost his voice, that was me), the unfortunat...

Re: Heredity B/Designer Genes C
Was it just me or did anybody else think the C division Designer Genes test was way too easy? Compounded with the fact that there were something like 4 questions where we needed a codon amino-acid chart and weren't provided with one, I feel like the scores must have been pretty close and kinda sketc...

Re: Remote Sensing C
I think this was the weirdest Remote Sensing test that I have ever taken. This is my BEST event and I got 35th. The test consisted of what Genius posted above with (I believe) 1 point per multiple choice and 5 points per short answer/math question. IMO, the test was not well written in terms of foll...

Re: Science Olympiad 2013-2014
Is this limit on notepages to avoid cheating or something?? It's more because there are different philosophies about the notes and different people in charge of the various committees. You'll note all the events in my committee for example allow binders. Our of curiosity, what are the different phi...

Re: Ultimate Tournament
Raleigh Charter would play (if it's on Friday--I don't think we'll be there on time by Thursday).

Re: Your Daily Random Comment
Heh, I didn't apply to Stanford because I thought I had no chance whatsoever of making it in :P and I was working on other applications up to the last day, I don't think I could have handled another one with a supplement as long as Stanford's. (or maybe I'm just lazy) If it makes you feel better, I...
