Re: Your Daily Random Comment

When did I become "an old man"? I'm suddenly going to bed earlier and voluntarily waking up around sunrise. (For now, I give it a few weeks at most until something keeps me awake until sunrise and I'm back to vampire life).

Re: Your Daily Random Comment

I'm pretty happy with myself right now for learning how to sew a button from a few Youtube videos; got a little hairy at the end though, next time I need to remember to cut a little more than a cubit of thread. Also I like to live dangerously by not bothering to take the pants off first...

Re: Your Daily Random Comment

I'm randomly pondering again: What's new (and popular) in YA fiction these days? I have no clue whether the genre is in a slump or if I'm just getting old and out of touch, as I'm not familiar with anything since Hunger Games. I think I asked this on IRC awhile ago and no one there/then could name m...

Re: Covid-19 and Nats/States

Wichita State (host venue of Kansas tournament) just released their updated policy stating that all events over 150 people are prohibited, strongly implying that the Kansas tournament will be officially cancelled shortly (if not already gone out, I have no remaining direct affiliation). Now might be...

I locked this thread for a few minute as I took a minute to assess and decide an appropriate response. Please remain calm, await official confirmation from a reliable source, and avoid this thread turning into panicked, run-away speculation. Followup: the original post was edited afterward suggestin...

Known Issue with Moving and Deleting Private Messages [Workaround]

It has come to our attention that there is a bug in our forum software that breaks one of the methods of moving and deleting private messages. If you go to your private messages inbox (or and other folder), check the box next to one or more messages, and attempt to select an option in the dropbox at...

Re: Picture Gallery Broken?

A behind the scenes update broke it, and we no longer wish to support the old gallery, so I have disabled access (since it's already unusable). Hopefully we will implement a proper replacement soon, or at least a semi-usable archive. In the mean time, if you really need a certain image (eg. you have...

Re: Your Daily Random Comment

nuclear bomb drill Ah yes. Hiding under a standard issue school desk will protect you from a nuclear blast... This is one of my big pet peeve misconceptions. It was never about surviving at ground zero, but sometimes for a substantial area, depending on yield and detonation height, the primar...
