Re: Pennsylvania 2017
Does anyone know what happened to Strath Haven? I can shed some light on this. Unfortunately, the senior class this year had a very difficult time due to some issues with coaching. On top of that, there were very few returning members relative to previous years: last year, we had 14 total people on...

Re: University of Pennsylvania Inaugural Invitational 2017
When is the registration deadline? The registration deadline is November 30th, assuming that the maximum number of entries is not exceeded before then. Keep in mind that registration is based on a first-come, first-serve basis. The maximum amount of teams we can host is 60. Registration opens tomor...

4. Strath Haven: 9 medals, 173 points Huh, that's weird, I counted us with 12, but I may be wrong. Regardless, I am proud of the way our team came together in the end. We managed to bring 15 members, bringing a couple of people to states from the AP science classes that had never done Science Olymp...

Re: Pennsylvania 2016
Yeah, seems pretty accurate. We (Strath Haven) are losing several important members of our Regionals team due to some kind of band competition.EastStroudsburg13 wrote: 7. Strath Haven - 102

Re: Invasive Species B/C
For people who are doing Invasive Species at the Pennsylvania State Tournament, it says on the list under aquatic species: Snakehead (all species). Does this mean I have to know about each and every species of snakehead, or just be able to identify the main genus and know the rest of the general pr...

Re: Bridge Designs
Great, thanks for all the input. I'm going to try 1/16" square bass and see how that goes. I've only built 1 bridge this year that I've used for all competitions, so I better start testing some more...

Re: Bridge Designs
I was wondering what type/size of wood people have been using for the tension piece running across the length of the bridge? I'm currently using a 3/32 by 3/32 piece of basswood, but I would like to slim this down as much as I can.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Pennsylvania 2015
They key would be getting someone willing to act as an advisor. If you can manage that, then much of the actual studying/building can be student-run if necessary. You wouldn't be likely to qualify for states in your first couple years, but you'd be setting the foundation for future success down the...
