Re: Geologic Mapping C

The question is part of a random powerpoint that I have, not sure where it came from and not sure how to link just that slide...but the idea was to draw the rest of the block diagram from just the geologic map. But I looked closer and realized there was a tiny dip symbol along the fault, so that ans...

Re: Geologic Mapping C

Does anyone know how to tell the difference between a dip-slip fault and a transform fault when reading a super simple geometric map? Aka just a top view (or even with cross sections) with nothing but strata marked. As far as I can tell the two (when eroded to flat) have identical outcrop patterns,...

Re: Protein Modeling C

Woot CBM info is up (at least partially) - this year's topic is definitely broader than in the past, but it should be interesting :)

Re: Chem Lab C

Just wondering, what kinds of things are people putting in their binders? Because as far as I can tell the event is mostly calculation, aside from some of the qualitative analysis stuff and reaction prediction....

Re: Protein Modeling C

Hey I had two questions Has anyone who has done this event at nats know the time constraints that they give us there. Like the whole 50 min for both the test/onsite or are they split. Also does anyone know how much the creative additions are actually worth. I've been to tournaments where they are 4...

Re: Protein Modeling C

I was wondering if anyone from that team could give me some pointers on how they built the DNA. Thanks! Or anyone who has made stable, good DNA, advice would be much appreciated. In the image gallery there are photos of my sister's model from past years, in which she coiled stiff paper for the back...

Re: Write It Do It B/C

"Code" is not very well defined in the rules, I would ask individual supervisors exactly how they define it. Personally I use descriptors like that all the time and it doesn't seem to be a problem, but for all I know I could have been penalized for it and never have found out. I think they're more c...

Re: Geologic Mapping C

I would look for a geologic lab manual, such as this one http://www.usouthal.edu/geography/allis ... Manual.pdf, which is even available for free online. There are many such resources if you do a little googling.
