Re: Your funniest fails!
This happened in my first year of SO, 6th grade, and was also my first competition. On an invitational Road Scholar test, my partner and I didn't know how to even answer the test. It was laid out differently than any other test we had ever seen, so we put random words in the blanks. I can't fathom h...

When you forget which school bus you're supposed to take after weeks of late-night Scioly practice. I don't think you're allowed to compete in 2 divisions at once... or maybe it's just my state. I meant competing in the C division for some invitationals only. I know that you can only compete in one...

Re: Science Olympiad 2012
Helicopter Egg Drop? Is this a new event or is it an old one being brought back in? I've never heard of it.

This goes in with the balsa/bass building events. Crane Building Teams must construct a tower crane capable of supporting up to 15 kg of a load at the end of the jib. The crane will be fixed to the testing table. The tower must be at least 30 cm high, and the working jib must be at least 15 cm. Max...

When the only thing that you think about when the Scioly year is over is the next year.
When your coaches start asking you for suggestions to help the team next year.
When you start to like the elements song...
When you want to compete in both B and C divisions during 9th grade.

Re: Science Olympiad Stories
My first one is last year at the TN State Competition. For the past 25 or so years, Bearden had won state, and since our team(Friendship Christian) had made it to state every year, we were always second to them. That year we had our best team yet and we knew we had to win that year. The whole awards...

Re: Bottle Rocket B
The winning combined time at the SoCal State competition was around 41 seconds. The winning combined time at the Wright State Invitational was over 40. The other top times were in the high 30s. Seems possible. Don't forget that this is Ohio you are talking about here. I agree with rocketman55 that m...

Aside from climate, do you need to know about some general weather topics?
