Re: Astronomy C

Does anyone have any images for H1821+643 and NGC 2623.I got like one or two for them, but I couldn't find any more. I'm new to Astro so I need some help on it. Some DSOs may just not have many images. One thing you can do is to google search for "DSO name" with a specific observatory or website fr...

Re: Scioly Summer Study Session 2019

Sorry to double post, but props to Gluestick for pointing out the presence of zero dynamic planet subs (as I was asked, there were also no accepted geomaps ones right now)...that helped me also notice a few users not added and some Heredity submissions not added. I can't quite speed up the review pr...

Re: Scioly Summer Study Session 2019

Still haven’t received a single email... I submitted a CB test on time, but haven't got an approval email yet, so if a Mod could check my test that would be great I do send reminders still and we do have a list we're working through (it was like 15 - 20 subs, mostly piled up on a few people). Class...

Re: Scioly Summer Study Session 2019

Sorry I don't reply to all of these, sometimes can't tell if the mod handled it after seeing the post. Anyway. I sent in my second round of submisison on August 10th but I never heard back from my mod. I wasn't sure if you guys are still reviewing revisions after the deadline but I did send in my su...

Re: Scioly Summer Study Session 2019

It's been a week and I haven't heard back for corrections or acceptance yet. Does anyone know where my submission is to being done? Handled as you saw (and trying to still keep people reminded) I have not heard back from anyone after a week as well, can someone please tell me when my submission wil...

Re: Scioly Summer Study Session 2019

I know that build guides are accepted -- will detailed and lengthy guides for other events be accepted as well (like WIDI, ExpD, Game On, etc maybe Astro)?
Yes, why not? That's pretty similar to notes anyway.

Re: Scioly Summer Study Session 2019

An update on submissions! I figured might as well put together what events have / haven't been submitted. There's obviously no requirement for submitting for events nobody is doing, sometimes people just ask us about this. Events with significantly more submissions (like 7+): A&P, Circuit Lab, Code ...

Re: Math Ability of Competitors

Yeah, if test writers can't deal with basic guidelines, they can cry me a river. (Jeez, am I getting cranky in my old age? :P ) First of all, cranky test writers are no good for competitors. We want good tests, and so do most other people. Second, I don't think you're exactly old EastStroudsburg13....

Re: Scioly Summer Study Session 2019

Roughly how long does it take for a mod to get back to you?
It should take like 6 to 7 days at most, though a few mods have been consistently late because reasons, and I've been trying to bug them about it.

Re: Math Ability of Competitors

The difference is that people is Scioly are generally not taking that math, usually they're either in high math or more accelerated (Geometry, Algebra 2 etc.). And after taking a look at the curriculum for NY and the Common Core, I would still say those are meant for kids who learn at a moderate to...
