Re: Maryland 2014

I'm really curious as to how Pilgrimage B studied. It's hard to believe a team could win by 50 points. Maybe Maryland is a state with national ambitions. Maybe in a few years, Pilgramage will be the new Solon and Maryland will be the new Ohio. Let's see... Monday was a ice cream party and today was...

I second this for the div b team. Nice job!

Congrats to WJ too! I was hoping you'd get a chance to attend Nationals, 'cause I know a couple people from WJ who wanted to go. :D

Knowing the concepts inside and out. General chem knowledge helps too. Even as somebody who is currently tutoring AP Chemistry, my teammate and I will have a hard time here in Maryland. It is insanely competitive.

Re: Maryland 2014

Go Maryland! Glad you started the thread (also you may want to organise the post a bit; competition dates, invitationals, etc). Central MD Regionals is March 1st, and States is Apr 12th, last I checked. I'd rather everybody look at the source, though, instead of relying on me: marylandscienceolympi...

Maryland 2014

Discussion for Maryland 2014. Also - just curious - anybody wish they didn't have to get up so early when school started? Anybody wish all their classes were from places like EPGY, aphomeschoolers.com, or edX? Or maybe community college, Cedarbrook Academy, Chieftain Institute, or Shady Grove Academ...

Re: Maryland 2013

Also, does anybody else find it funny that Maryland has so many posts even though we aren't a very competitive state? Maybe since last year it was one point in both divisions and this year 4 points (if I remember correctly) in division B, people discuss it because there isn't one team that is alway...

Re: Maryland 2013

Good job NB!! Have a fun time at Nationals. The Div. B Pilgrimage asked about the rubrics too. I'm glad I did. I didn't think that they would disqualify a team for using a rubric, especially when (at least for div. b), multiple teams were using phones for stopwatches...but I understand that this wa...

Re: Maryland 2013

Why are you guys all pilgrams? Are you asking why we chose the name "Pilgrimage"? We chose it because the first year, the coach's homeschool umbrella group (umbrella group = group that reviews homeschool families for the state) was "Pilgrimage School at Manor Woods." When the co...

There wasn't an announcement. I asked when we entered the room. However, because we had been told we could use it at regionals, I almost didn't ask!

Re: Maryland 2013

I just thought that when pilgrimage was called for 2nd place, we erupted in cheer, when we really should have waited for us to be called. And Mr.X, what I heard is that in experimental design, they brought a scoring rubric in that they didn't know they weren't allowed to have. ( they had used it ma...

Re: Maryland 2013

Good job everyone!!! And espicially pilgramage, i bet that was really close. urbana is getting good too... Sorta reminds me of pilgramge 2 years ago... Centtenial won high school, but WJ was disqualified in two events for ridicoulous reasons. And, pilgramage people, were we really annoying at the e...
