Re: General Mission Possible

This is really bad for the last day before competition, but I have a few questions I've encountered

1. If you aren't able to complete the final task (it fails) what happens? When does the timing of the device start?
2. Will you still get points for completing all your other tasks?
Good Luck!

Re: General Mission Possible

Is a rubber band a spring? According to the definition "an elastic object used to store mechanical energy", I think so.
Also Wikipedia listed it as a spring, so I want to know non-officially what you think.

Re: General Mission Possible

In task 4J, The task says to move and pour granular material from one container to another higher in the device. If the container's bottom is below the "higher container's" bottom, but the top of the first container is higher than the second container, does the second container count as being higher...

Re: General Mission Possible

For task 4f, if we have a first class level and a second class level combined, with a marble on the second class lever, would creating the incline using an IMA of greater than 5 and letting the marble roll count as "utilizing the IMA of 5 to cause the next action? Sounds like a inclined plane to me...

Re: General Mission Possible

For calculating the IMA of a system of simple machines i.e. 4f, are the two machines' IMA combined or multiplied
For example Lever 1 has IMA of 2, and Lever 2 has IMA of 3, would the total IMA be 5 (2+3) or 6 (2*3)
Thank you in advance!

Re: General Mission Possible

For task I When we move an object with a third class level, does the lever have to touch the object for the entire duration of movement (until 15 cm) For example, if the level pushed a roll-able object and pushed it for 5 cm, the level stopped moving, and the object continues to roll for 10 cm due ...
