I'm looking at chert and chalcedony, and was wondering if someone could explain the terms microfibrous and microcrystalline, and possibly cryptocrystalline as I don't totally get their difference and how they apply to each of the previous specimens.

Thank you! I have the scientific notation and most units down I'm more just looking for the obscure units because I've been getting hammered by questions on tests about beardseconds, planck lengths, and such so I wanted to go over those and see what other ones there are.

Answer|The top one is a barite rose and the bottom one is a gypsum rose. I could tell by the much more defined and sharp edges on the gypsum rose, though a giveaway sign is weight because barite has a much higher specific gravity than gypsum.
