We thought it was incredibly easy, and so did many of the people we talked to. We got 18th, which was a little worse than we expected, given that we'd known almost every answer. It seems like there were so many people who'd done well, that it went to whoever got the closest on the tiebreaker.

Unfortunately, we practiced using older versions of Microsoft Office, so we barely finished the graphical problem and left several things off. Over all, I thought we did okay (26th).

According to this, jasper is red or brown chalcedony.
Chalcedony is microcrystalline quartz. Also, other sources have said that it also contains moganite (a monoclinic silica mineral)
Chert is similar, only it is cryptocrystalline (smaller crystals).
