Re: Forestry B/C

For you guys' reference sheets, going back to last pages discussion, what's too much info on each tree? Should I spend time specifically memorizing facts about each tree? There's just so much that could be asked, you know? Thanks!

Re: Rocks & Minerals B/C

@syo_astro I totally agree. What makes me nervous is just the sheer variety within some of the minerals. I guess experience is the tell between those common minerals. Edit: Also I was wondering what the numbers like this, {0001} etc..., mean with cleavage. Example: Augite Cleavage: Distinct/Good Goo...

Re: New York 2013

Haha syo_astro...good luck! Fortunately for you I'm not competiting this weekend ;) haha just kidding about the fortunate part, but I didn't make Columbia's "A-Team" which goes to States and Athens. But I'll still be there this weekend for support, just not testing at all.

Re: New York 2013

Also, Fayetteville and Spackenkill, as well as Columbia, each had two teams which did well in the competition, so I'm guessing they combine the top students from each team in order to maximize their medals. It was a tough competition though, everyone did awesome.

Re: Rocks and Minerals Question Marathon

Goethite because of the round shape of the mineral, but also because of the dark black color versus a more metalic traditional metal color? Maybe wrong.
