Re: Pictures, Videos, Scores

I wanted to share my experience from States at NJ. We placed 2nd at the tournament. A few things that I noted: -The majority of teams suck at building events. (sorry but every year, my theory is confirmed once again) -For an event like Robot Arm, you need practice and confidence. I saw a couple of a...

Re: Threshold for a competitive time

I might be a little bit late for this but I'd like to give my two sense. Our school goes to regionals with huge powerhouse schools who consistently place at the national and state levels. We had a car with 1 m/s speeds but with a decent level of accuracy, and our car was bound to score within top 3....

Re: Robot Arm C

I need some ideas for the production of the master arm (in a master-slave system). I happened to find analog feedback servos from Adafruit, which were a godsend, because they're pretty much potentiometers shaped like servos. That is really great because I can simply mimic the design of the real arm ...

Re: Robot Arm C

I know this isn't the place for clarifications, but am I wrong in assuming that there should be power outlets available at competitions?

Re: Robot Arm C

Its much better imo. Ive tried using all 3 and im positive that at most state competitions the top 3 teams will all use master-slave control systems. These are superior in that if it takes like 2 hours to learn to consistently get a full score using a master-slave control system, then it will proba...

Re: Robot Arm C

For those of you using master-slave controls, how much of a competitive advantage did you gain versus using a laptop or joystick? Does it make your runs go faster? Its much better imo. Ive tried using all 3 and im positive that at most state competitions the top 3 teams will all use master-slave co...

Re: Electric Vehicle C

I have a question- if the vehicle is non-compliant with the rules, can the competitors be given an opportunity to fix it during the prep time of the run?

Re: Scores?

Time: about 12 seconds
Accuracy: about 2 cm from target

Our vehicle could definitely go faster, but as of now, we don't have enough money to buy the parts necessary :(.

Re: Electric Vehicle C

I figured out the root to all of my problems... and it kinda sucks until I can find or make better code. Basically my code was perfectly fine... However, my encoders aren't perfect. When the code sets a speed above a certain threshhold, I think that the encoders begin to freak out (probably because...
