Re: Write It Do It B/C

Write It Do It shall be very interesting this year. What makes you say that? The rules haven't changed that much. There are a few more bold terms added in now, but nothing crazy, like pictures being allowed or anything. Makes me wonder what would change. That artistic person on each team would do i...

Re: SOSI 2016: AMA (Ask Me Anything at the Summer Institute)

True, Sorry for not being clear in my description of the track. The way I'm envisioning the track is the same setup as old-school scrambler with the bonus. That seems the MOST logical to me. I'd be curious to see how the vertical feature would work though. I agree that horizontal like the old scram...

I agree. Is there somewhere that I missed that specified how the cans will be set up?

Re: SOSI 2016: AMA (Ask Me Anything at the Summer Institute)

EV: It says there's a bonus line at the halfway point of the track. The way I understand this, the bonus line is horizontal (as it is placed at the halfway point of the track). But The bonus this year is subtracting "0.2 x Distance between cans in cm (to nearest 0.1cm). This is the part that d...

Re: SOSI 2016: AMA (Ask Me Anything at the Summer Institute)

Dcrxcode, First are you Mr. Araya? If so, hey dude! It's Chris! EV will be covered tomorrow in detail, according to SOPomo. So the bonus will be discussed. As for hitting the can, I'm basing this off of the old scrambler bonus (gotta hunt them down in my mental vault), i assume you get a failed run ...

Re: Electric Vehicle 2017 event info

Anyone else confused bout the scoring of this bonus? I wrote my 95 theses and nailed it to the wall of SOSI, so if you wish to know my thought process, feel free to read it there. But this bonus doesn't make any sense to me. Help required for explanation behind it!

Re: SOSI 2016: AMA (Ask Me Anything at the Summer Institute)

So I was doing a few theorhetical calculations on the bonus for EV and I think there may be a sign error or something. Based on the bonus subtracting "0.2 times the distance inbetween the cans to the nearest 0.1 cm" and assuming low score still wins, wouldn't just placing the can as FAR as...

Re: Scores?

Oh man, the clump was a lot closer than expected, i thought 2nd was MILES ahead of me. I.e. like 5 points which is a huge difference at nats. But from 22.48 to ~19.9 only 3 points difference is insanely close It was even closer than that. windu34's numbers were a bit off, and his actual score was 2...
