Re: Elastic Launched Gliders B
Sometimes my glider makes a constant arc shape while flying where it lightly goes down and then back up instead of flying stably, and I'm having problems troubleshooting it. It's a homemade glider based on this one: http://www.amaflightschool.org/diy/how-build-indoor-catapult-launch-glider-science-...

Re: Helicopters C
did anyone see a decrease in times at the competition? I think the air density was a factor of the lower times. At home in a 9 foot ceiling my partner and I were consistently getting times of above 3:10 however at the competition we got a time of 2:40.

Re: Towers B/C
So my kids were kind of ambitious with the number of silica packets they used and they reduced the weight by .24 grams last night. Is this normal or potentially problematic? I have never used silica gel packets to reduce the wight of my tower however the absence of water in the wood may cause the s...

Re: Wright stuff times?
In a 90 foot gym times of 4 minutes should be achievable. So 2:37 is a bit on the lower end.

Re: Towers B/C
You may want to try x's and ladders for the chimney portion of the tower as the main segments undergo a lot of compression. Next time you test a tower make sure to look at the chimney and check if the braces are bending or warping while you are loading. This will give you a clear indication whether ...

Re: Towers B/C
Where should the connection between the base and chimney be relative to the 20cm mark? Our team sees two main options: Option A: Have the chimney legs meet the base right at the 20cm height barely inside the 8cm circle. This allows a steeper base leg angle, but it also requires a shallower chimney ...

Re: Best Times
1st place in New Jersey was 2:58 in a 25 ft ceiling. However there was a decent amount of draft which stopped helicopters from reaching their max times.
