Re: It's About TIme

When did the USFG first establish timezones? What prompted it? Officially, time zones were implemented into US federal law with the Standard Time Act of 1918 (to save daylight and to have standard time throughout the country). But the US also did somewhat implement the Standard Railway Time System ...

Re: It's About Time C

i.e. aren't both unworkable? The only way to measure fractional period I've heard is to use an escapement so you have a constant amplitude (you still have to have killer reflexes). My partner and I don't use an escapement on our device, and we can still get fractional swings close enough to get nea...

Re: GeoLogic Mapping C

not too sure about this but|since the red dot is 40 m in the direction of the strike, wouldn't this just be [math]\frac{40\textrm{ m}}{x}=\frac{\textrm{heave}}{\textrm{throw}}\Rightarrowx=33.3\textrm{ m}?[/math] No, sorry You mistook the lamina for the fault line-- the fault is running north-south ...

Re: Forensics C

Hello! I was wondering if there was a chart for identifying powders that someone would like to share? My partner and I have done multiple tests of our powders, and each time they come out with results that are different from our other charts. We're beginning to think it is an error in the chart, no...

Re: GeoLogic Mapping C

What do you mean by derive? I just drew a picture and labeled the sides, and did some trig. Seems useful, but all the tests I've seen force you to show your work by drawing the picture thing, so... Derive the equation from basic trig identities? Scan up/transcribe your work perhaps? I'm curious to ...
