Re: Air Trajectory B/C
I am having a different problem. The rules say, "All air device chambers must start launch at ambient air pressure and must automatically return to ambient pressure." We are using a red rubber "dodge ball" that begins at ambient pressure, gets deflated during launch, thus return...

Re: Air Trajectory B/C
So they picked easy distances, 3 and 6 meters. I got between 100 and 200 MM for all four shots but only got second. Probably would have done better if my partner agreed to do a bucket shot. The judge gave me a problem with the air pump but he caved and gave it to me, thanks everyone for the help an...

Re: Air Trajectory B/C
One final question, for the graphs, does anyone have an example of what they are suppose to look like? Also, can you have either a table or a graph? or do you have to have both? You need both data tables and graphs. I posted a template that you can use for your graphs. I've gotten full scores on gr...

Re: Air Trajectory B/C
It has to reinflate it by itself. So you cannot use any mechanism to re-inflate it, I believe. When I attempted to use the kickball, we just switched to using a soda bottle because it was really irritating to work with. Could you direct me to the rule that suggests that or explicitly says it? All I...

Re: Air Trajectory B/C
I have finally figured out my device and got it to work. The only problem is, it is hard to re-inflate the kickball I am using. Would it be against the rules to use an air pump for an air mattress to fill it? I know the rules say that you can not have anything electrical as part of your device, but ...

Re: Air Trajectory B/C
I was going to post a picture of what I made just in case other people needed ideas but it says my picture is too large. Oh well. I did find out that if you cut a small hole in a kickball you can just fit a garden hose in the end and not have any leakage. I over-complicated my original idea. Since t...

Re: Air Trajectory B/C
I was looking at a team that had a triggering device similar to the Official video released. I knew I was not going to do that but one thing from the video that i realized was their method of adjusting distance. They raised or lowered the weight using the rope to a certain line marked, and then rele...

Re: Scioly Team Music
Good for your coaches for allowing 6th graders to compete, but only 4 8th graders? Who was crazy enough to limit the number of experienced people?
Im not sure if this format will be every year or just this year but she only picked 4 8th graders. In the past years I have done it, we h...
