Our team competed at an invitational this weekend and one of the rockets had a long nosecone of clear plastic material . . . but had no cap on the end. The nose was open approximately an inch at the end of the rocket. I assumed when it was launched air would rush down the nosecone and knock it down...

My school just competed in science olympiad last year, so we don't have any definite traditions. The first I would think our school has is that our team captain is a 7th grader (lowest grade at the school I go to). There are also a lot of inside jokes.

It's probably also hard to enforce the copying in building events because there is a likelihood that a school accused was working on a design similar to successful ones during the competition. Also, during one of the invitationals I was at, recording and photography of another school doing a buildin...

Does anybody know if the event supervisors are allowed to prevent you from pressurizing and/or pulling the trigger to launch the rocket? I was at an invitational last Saturday, and the event supervisors, who were parent volunteers from one of the schools competing (I think), did not allow my team to...
