Re: Texas 2019
Also the really nice thing about the way Texas does things is that if certain tournament dates don't work out, it's not a big deal, you can just pick another regional. For example, there have been countless times where a certain regional was too close to the second out of state invitational or there...

Re: Science Olympiad at MIT Invitational 2019
Hey everyone, I was the event supervisor for Fossils this past weekend at MIT. As other people have stated, the exams will be publicly released but I just wanted to post a little debrief of the event on Saturday. Taking into account what many people have informed me personally or otherwise regarding...

Re: Unofficial Rankings C
What do you all think about the effect of Texas losing its second bid on the national rankings? I mean obviously it will open a spot in the top 10, but do you think the Texas team attending nats will be better as a result of the change? Also Unome where is Japan on your rankings :P I wouldn't say s...

Re: Texas 2018
I got 1st place at my regionals and I scored 187 on mine (I'm div C tho). But yeah state last year was terrible. I think I got around 154 and still got 2nd (i hate you clements) My normal scores range from 180-195, extremely hard sets anywhere between 150-170 (which is a pretty big range, but) EDIT...

Re: Texas 2018
Texas only recently started this. I think last year was the first time they implemented this policy.Unome wrote:in fact, until now I didn't even know Texas did this

Re: Poorly Run Event Stories
Chill, there were not 542 questions, that's just how many points there were. Most questions were worth 2-3 points. And again, I literally NEVER said that the competitors aren't working hard enough. Just keep in mind that all you east coast teams are privileged when it comes to science olympiad. In T...

Re: Poorly Run Event Stories
There were only 17 stations, with 14 having specimens to identify and most answers were a few word answers (originally I had 15 but had to add 2 more because there are 17 teams per block). And you had 2.5 minutes to complete each station. 10% is approximately 1 question per station (some had more)....
