Re: Texas 2017
Also, is Tompkins a strong school? I don't think they placed as a team as state last year, but here they are getting third at Cyfalls, no mean feat... They got 5th at state last year, narrowly losing to TAMS. I think they're one of the best teams in Texas behind SL/LASA/Clements and only trending u...

Re: Texas 2017
Congratulations to everyone who competed at Cyfalls yesterday! Division B: 1. Beckendorff 2. Riverwood 3. Tays Division C: 1. Seven Lakes 2. Clements 3. Tompkins For those who don't know, Tays is a new JHS from Katy that (I think) feeds into Tompkins. Glad to see a new school doing so well; they we...

Re: Texas 2016

Congrats especially to the top 4 teams (sorry I only know division C): 4 - TAMS 3- Clements 2- Seven Lakes 1- LASA Thanks also to the pr...

Re: Cypress Falls
Actually what Boca Raton does was the method of selecting the team the Kealing. Essentially the coaches would pick the A team based off of results as well as off of experience and how often they practices (work ethic). What I found with this method is that often times those who are phenomenal at an...

Re: Cypress Falls
My team (Boca Raton) never competes with unstacked teams. Members for teams are picked based on work ethic (almost all work is done after school in the coaches classroom) and based on performance from previous competitions (the previous year at nats weighing the most). Sophmores/freshman can make t...

Re: Cypress Falls
Wouldn't it be by the tryout test? Using cyfalls gives another point of consideration, which is good because people can screw up on tests and basing decisions off one time might not be the best idea That's a good point. Thanks :) Ya, and like varunscs11 mentioned earlier, LASA doesn't choose teams ...

Re: Cypress Falls
Basically it allows the team building decisions to be fair because if teams were stacked for Cy-Falls what would the teams be based upon? Wouldn't it be by the tryout test? Using cyfalls gives another point of consideration, which is good because people can screw up on tests and basing decisions of...

Re: Texas 2016
Still, that year LASA didn't do as well at nats as they did last year... I'm guessing that's because Texas was less competitive back then; that was the first top ten for a Texas Div C team in a long time. True, these days LASA, Clements, and Seven Lakes are really at each others' throats for those ...
