Re: Best material for parachue?

not to mention, braided fishing line is coated with either waxy or teflon like substance to enable long casts... this sucks when you're trying to make this stick to something...

also, you need to learn fishing knots... as many simple overhand knots slips on braided lines.

Re: Times and sec/ft

on a side note, i asked the proctor the celing height and he actually told me 30 feet. I'm not sure where this measurement came from though. Side note, some people with maroon hoodies were cheering when it failed both times lol, not sure why. Pretty sure it was a middle school too smh. i think i wa...

Re: Final Action BONUS (150 points)

this was clarified by National over at their site in FAQ's (Section: 3 / Paragraph: d / Sub-Paragraph: ii / Line: 1) 10/08/2019 IF THE TEE HOLDER IS MOUNTED ONTO THE WALL OR BASE OF THE DEVICE, DOES THE WALL AND BASE COUNT AS PART OF THE DEVICE AND SUBJECT TO THE 10CM CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT OF THE RU...

Re: Final Action: Putting the initial dropped ball to the tee

but base of the device is still the device and if you have a wood block of 3/4 MDF made to hold the tee in position and still clear the 2.5cm of the tee, the wood block is considered Tee Base, so it's safe, but the bottom panel, in middle of the device is still within the 10cm of the golf ball... a...

Re: Final Action: Putting the initial dropped ball to the tee

Basically I plan on putting my tee in the bottom corner of the device attached to the base with no wall or anything within 10 cm. I think this is the only realistic way to meet the rules as written - the tee is in the "open" corner of the device. One suggestion, though - perhaps a small lip around ...

Re: Final Action: Putting the initial dropped ball to the tee

I too found the 'device' wording here confusing. If device means the entire build as described in the start of the rules, then the tee holder should be somewhere outside the boundary of the device (which I think we all agree is not the intent). But I think I read this like knight does, as no acting...

Re: Final Action: Putting the initial dropped ball to the tee

thanks for your reply... but i still find it a bit confusing in that the first mention of the word "DEVICE" is followed by "that delivered the ball to the tee" whereas the second mention of the word DEVICE can be interpreted as the entire device inclusive of every action and frame... "The part of t...

Re: Final Action: Putting the initial dropped ball to the tee

3d.ii states as follows: 3d.ii If the part of the DEVICE that delivered the ball to the tee is then automatically moved away so the ball is clearly unobstructed in all directions, an additional 150 pts will be awarded. The ball must stay on the tee and no part of the DEVICE except the tee and tee h...

Re: Final Action: Putting the initial dropped ball to the tee

Essentially, this prevents you from claiming, say, the rolling of the ball immediately after the Start Action as part of that 20 cm.
got it...

thanks again!
